Yes, Nancy, you are right, it is very important to practice receiving, which is a difficult subject for many of us. I still struggle sometimes with it, but I keep consciously trying to accept things, compliments or help with a smile and just saying “thank you so much”. And each time it gets easier.
For the people concerned of that being too selfish, think of this: when we accept we are giving at the same time… We are giving the other person the gift of feeling useful and generous, we are letting them experiencing the good feelings of being of help to others. Therefore the next time that somebody gives you something, do not try to find out what to give to that person in exchange. Let them “win”. It feels great for both…
I take this opportunity to thank Nancy for her notes. Some of them have made a difference in me and have open new perspectives. Thank you !!!!
Just last night, I had a “yes, but” moment. Your words ring true, as always. Thank you for helping us all to gently evolve.
